Music
Mandy Lynn Danzig
Mandy plays almost anything with strings, and during her shows, she flows effortlessly from one instrument to another, weaving in and out of songs with her effervescent storytelling. Often accompanied by vocalist Alisa Jo, Mandy’s shows are rollicking romps through traditional and original music filled with joy, and an invitation for everyone to sing along. After the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, she performed a live show every weekday morning on Facebook in 2020 until she reached 200 shows.
Bomba Marilé
Bomba Marilé was established November 2017 with the purpose of sharing Afro Puerto
Rican traditions of Bomba music, dance, and history through interactive events that create
a sense of community.
Since their initiation, they have organized Bomba workshops with visiting instructors, social events including dominos and picnics, and educational activities including showing documentaries discussing issues related to Puerto Rico.
Bomba Marilé has had the opportunity to perform at various cultural events throughout Utah including Living Traditions Festival, West Side Dance Cinco de Mayo Festival, Mondays at the Park, and Utah County Fair.
Bomba Marile are grateful for the opportunity to highlight their musical traditions from Puerto Rico and to share them with those who support the cultural arts.
saintclare
Clare Thornton is a recent graduate of BYU’s Commercial Music program and loves to perform, write music, and currently works as a mixing engineer.
Her current project, “saintclare”, is a fusion of jazz, alt-rock, and pop that toes the line between the musically familiar and harmonically complex. She loves to share her music whenever she can and hopes to put on a fantastic show for this year’s Davis County Pride.
